Badalona records more than 300 of the 500 incidents recorded by 112 this Tuesday due to the intense rains that mainly affect the region of Barcelonas (Barcelona). The deputy director of civil protection programs of the Generalitat, Sergio Delgado, explained in an interview with ‘3CatInfo’ that the rain front moved south, but at 8:15 p.m. it moved south. there is still “a significant queue of incidents” in Badalona, which recorded 120 l/m2, but without any bodily injury.

He said it was a “very irregular, in the sense of uncertainty, unpredictability” rain phenomenon and asked citizens to carefully check the weather situation before traveling.
Regarding the reasons for this phenomenon, he said that it had to be “analyzed calmly”, but that it was about storms. more typical of September than December.
Barcelona warns of flood risk
For its part, the Civil Protection of Barcelona activated the Municipal Emergency Action Plan on Tuesday afternoon due to the risk of insufficient drainage in the alert phase due to the forecast of rain in the coming hours, Barcelona City Hall reported in a press release.
Anticipating that the rains will be intense over the next few hours, the municipality is asking to check the roofs, sewers, lightning rods and downspouts; unplug electrical appliances and store toxic products out of reach of water, among other things.
They also ask to bring pets indoors and have on hand a cell phone and charger, essential medications, warm clothing and personal documents and, when it comes to driving, they recommend moderating speed, braking gently and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, as well as avoiding flooded areas.
In addition, the service of lines L2 and L3 is interrupted between the Artigues-Sant Adrià and Badalona Pompeu Fabra stations (L2), and between Paral·lel and Passeig de Gràcia (L3) due to incidents caused by rain.
García Albiol calls for caution in the face of collapse
The mayor of Badalona (Barcelona), Xavier García Albiol, recommended to the population not to go out if it is not necessary, given the heavy rains affecting the city this Tuesday afternoon, and stressed that, despite the functioning of municipal services, “there are situations of collapse in many areas of the city.”

Albiol claimed to have received an Es-alert alert sent by the Generalitat of Catalonia and declared that, for its part, it had transmitted it to the population through the ‘X’ account of Badalona City Hall.
