Closure of recordings of TV soap opera Globo sparks controversy with unusual exclusions and limitations for guests
The end of the recording of the soap opera Mistress of mefrom TV Globo, ended up becoming a real behind-the-scenes subject within the channel. The party, which took place last week at a restaurant in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Rio de Janeiro, had all the makings of a relaxed celebration of the end of another hit production. However, the event ended up sparking controversy among the artists themselves, with exclusions and rules that many described as unusual.
External artists
According to the column Fabia Oliveirathe celebration brought together important names such as Camila Pitanga, Clara Moneke And Claudia Abreubut not all the actors in the plot were so lucky. Many artists with smaller roles or one-off appearances were not invited.
Sources close to the production revealed that some of these professionals had not even received an invitation. And, to make matters worse, others who decided to show up at the event site were turned away when they discovered their names were not on the official list. “Can you imagine the weather?”commented a source who witnessed the situation.
Globo’s decision to select only certain actors generated unease among those who hoped to participate in the celebration. Some said the exclusion was unfair, especially since everyone had been working hard for months, facing long recording days and complex scenes.
Unusual rule
The exclusion of artists was not the only controversial point during the closing night. The broadcaster also determined that no cast member could bring their partner or significant other to the event. Boyfriends, wives or girlfriends were left out, which ended up causing some embarrassment.
The most mentioned case is that of Breno Ferreirathe boyfriend of Clara Moneke and who was in the casting of Everything is allowed. He was unable to attend the party with his beloved, which caught the attention of his colleagues and ended up generating comments in the cast’s WhatsApp groups. “Some even questioned the decision, but the rule stood,” said a source close to the production.
Behind the scenes and in wear
Behind the scenes, the feeling is one of weariness among the actors. Dona de Mim premiered on April 28, and at the end it will have around 220 chapters. Many professionals involved in the soap opera believe that the plot could have ended earlier, while it was still at its peak, without having to prolong it and risk losing audience interest.
Additionally, comments are circulating that the pressure of recording, the intense routine, and the competitive atmosphere between artists and production contributed to the closing night being marked by discomfort rather than celebration. The choice of guests and restrictive rules ended up reflecting the tensions that had built up behind the scenes over the months.
Despite the controversies, the soap opera Dona de Mim leaves an important mark in Globo’s programming and paves the way for Coração Acelerado, which will premiere on January 12, promising to replace the current plot and end the cycle of stories that has been taking place throughout this year.
