Barry Manilow will undergo surgery to remove a cancerous spot in his lung and will postpone his January concerts.
Manilow, 82, testified that doctors discovered the cancer after he had a prolonged bout of bronchitis.
“My wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure everything was okay,” Manilow wrote on Instagram. “The MRI revealed a cancerous spot in my left lung that needs to be removed. It’s pure luck that it was caught so early.”
Doctors don’t think the cancer has spread, so “there will be no chemotherapy and no radiation. Just chicken soup and watching old episodes of ‘I Love Lucy,'” he joked.
