Press officer Ede Cury, who took care of the career of singer Leonardo since he was still in a duo with his brother Leandro, recalled a situation she experienced with the artist. She died this Tuesday (12/09), at the age of 70.
On André Piunti’s podcast, Cury said that on one occasion, Leonardo threw his bag out of the moving car. The interview was given to the podcast in January 2022.
“My cell phones were always ringing a lot and, even when it was silent, one day he took my bag… we were on an avenue… he took my bag and threw it out of the car,” she reported.
Cury also joked that he faced further difficulties with Leonardo, which would guarantee him a “good place” in heaven. “I’m going to get a good seat because, I swear to God…he’s already done with me,” he said.

Leonardo’s daughter mourns the death of Ede Cury, the singer’s advisor
Who was Ede Cury
Ede worked on Leandro and Leonardo’s communication in the 1990s and closely followed the period when Leandro faced lung cancer. Even after the singer’s death in 1998, he continued to work with Leonardo and expanded his career with names like Ana Maria Braga and Carla Perez.
One of the most delicate moments in Ede’s relationship with her family occurred in 2012, during Pedro Leonardo’s car accident. The then-singer was in an induced coma due to the severity of his injuries after the rollover near Tupaciguara (MG) and underwent a long recovery, closely monitored by his advisor.
The daughter of Osvaldo Cury, one of the owners of the Copacabana label, Ede was part of one of the most traditional families in the music business, responsible for releasing major country music hits in the 1990s and 2000s.
The family cries
“My dear Ede, you know how important you were in my life and that of my brother Leandro. You endured many reprimands, you took care of me like a son and my family like yours. You collected my tears in the most difficult moments, always with a friendly word. Thank you for everything Ede, it was more than 25 years of complicity and loyalty. You will forever be in my heart”, lamented Leonardo.
Leonardo’s wife, Poliana Rocha, also paid tribute: “28 years with Léo and the whole family! Rest in peace… We thank you with gratitude for everything you have done for us!”
Jéssica Beatriz, Leonardo’s daughter, posted a long text for the attention of the press officer. “How it hurts to lose someone who always wanted to see you. How it hurts to lose someone you love so much. I don’t think my money has gone yet… but whatever happens, I’m grateful to be able to see you and, without knowing it, say goodbye to you,” she lamented.
