The Federal Police report that upheld the decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), who ordered the arrest of the President of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (ALERG), Rodrigo Basilar (Uníao Brasil), shows his interactions with State Rep. Thiego Raymundo dos Santos Silva, known as TH Goias. Moments before his arrest, in September, as part of Operation Zargon, TH Goyas sent Basilar a Security Service photo showing federal police at his door on the day of the operation.

The Federal Police launched Operation Zargun in cooperation with the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), the Rio Public Ministry (MPRJ) and the Civil Police, through the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco-RJ). TH Goyas was arrested in a luxury residential apartment in Barra da Tijuca, western region of Rio, on suspicion of using his term in the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerg) for the benefit of organized crime.
He was accused of brokering the purchase and sale of drugs, guns and anti-drone equipment intended for Complexo do Alemão, as well as nominating Gabriel Dias de Oliveira’s wife, Indio do Lixao – who was identified as a drug trafficker and was also arrested – for a parliamentary position.
On Wednesday morning, the President of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerg), State Rep. Rodrigo Basilar (Unha Brasil), was arrested in Operation Unha e Carne, launched by the National Front suspected of leaking confidential information from the investigation and obstructing Zargón’s investigations.

According to PF, Basilar instructed TH Jóias to dispose of items of interest to PF before the agents arrived at his residence:
“State Deputy Rodrigo Bacellar, President of ALERJ, takes advance notice of police actions, speaks to the main target of such action and also advises him on removing objects of interest from the residence,” says the PF representative.

The PF added that “the importance of the crimes and the strong evidence of their authorship were unequivocally proven by the information obtained through the analysis of the surveillance cameras and entry logs of the Condomínio Mansões, as well as the contents of the cell phone seized in the possession of TH JOIAS, which indicate that the actions of Rodrigo Bacellar had the potential to frustrate the success of the police operation in seizing assets of interest in the basic investigations.”
