Singer affirms that there were no racist crimes during the dinner in São Paulo and reaffirms that he rejects any discriminatory attitude
Singer Belo spoke publicly, for the first time, about the episode which placed his girlfriend, Rayane Figliuzzi, at the center of a major controversy. The affair occurred during dinner at a Japanese restaurant in São Paulo and involved a heated discussion between two counselors who accompanied the couple. The fight took on greater proportions after a possible racist insult was reported.
In a note sent to Fábia Oliveira’s column, Belo denied that any racist crime had taken place in these premises. He stressed that although he witnessed some of the confusion, he did not hear any such insults and was informed by those present that no racist speech was made.
“Racism is unacceptable in all circumstances,” said the artist, emphasizing that his history and personal values do not allow this type of behavior around him.
What would have happened at dinner
According to the first article of the column, the tension began when Rayane commented on her desire to dedicate herself to Carnival preparations after leaving A Fazenda 17. The influencer would be Musa da Vila Isabel. Belo suggested that she take samba lessons before attending school rehearsals, and one of the counselors accepted this advice, which ended up irritating Rayane. The conversation evolved into a more serious disagreement, especially after drinking alcohol. In the heavy atmosphere, Rayane left the table crying, accompanied by her friends. Belo stayed with the advisors, who talked about it again.During this second stage of the fight, one of the professionals would have called the other a “monkey”, as previously revealed in the column. The victim of the crime was also doused with a drink thrown by the same person. Shaken, she left the restaurant and sought medical attention the next day after suffering an anxiety attack.
Repercussion
After the affair was revealed, the Vila Isabel samba school announced that Rayane Figliuzzi would no longer continue to be the face of Carnival. The decision came shortly after the fallout from the fight and allegations involving the councillors.
