Transactions via Pix reached a new record high last Friday (11/28). The Central Bank announced on Monday (1/12) that 297.4 million transactions were registered in one day, resulting in the processing of R$166.2 billion.
The record coincides with Black Friday and the deadline for paying the first installment of the 13th salary to millions of workers across Brazil. The previous record was on September 5 of this year, with 290 million transactions.
“The result is further evidence of the importance of Pix as a public digital infrastructure for the functioning of the national economy,” the central bank stated.
