Former Bolivian President Luis Arce, who left command of the country last month, has been arrested, a former member of his government announced this Wednesday (10). This information reignites political tensions in the country, which has experienced instability and internal conflicts since the recent succession.

The local press reported that this arrest was linked to an investigation into an alleged misappropriation of public resources. The suspicions center on the period during which Arce served as Minister of Economy in the government of Evo Morales, a position he held before becoming president.
