The Bolivian government confirmed this Wednesday the arrest of former president Luis Arce (2020-2025), as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in the management of a fund for indigenous projects, when he was Minister of Economy in the Evo Morales administration (2006-2019).
The Minister of Government (Interior), Marco Antonio Oviedo, declared during a press conference that Arce under investigation as ‘mainly responsible’ for ‘million-dollar economic damage’ that there was in the Indigenous Development Fund, because, as Minister of the Economy, he chaired the board of directors of this organization at the time.
