Politicians and influencers allied with the former president have complained about the American position on social networks.
After the government of Donald Trump removed Minister Alexandre de Moraes from the list of people sanctioned by the Magnitsky law, the allies of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) turned against the North American president. The American decision also provided for the dismissal of lawyer Viviane Barci, the judge’s wife, and of the Instituto Lex, a company managed by the couple. On social networks, deputies and influencers linked to Bolsonaro reacted by criticizing Trump.
“He who was born for Trump will never be Reagan,” said journalist Rodrigo Constantino on the social network X.
On the same platform, federal deputy Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ) also criticized and declared that Trump only wanted to negotiate.
“The Magnitsky Act was trivialized by Trump. There is no such thing as a ‘former human rights violator’. Unfortunately, we placed our hopes in someone who just wanted to negotiate. A great disappointment for the American president and a great lesson for us: let’s not outsource our responsibility,” he lamented.

Senator Jorge Seif Junior (PL-SC) followed a similar line. “There is no friendship or diplomacy between countries. There are economic interests.” The sanctions began to fall when surveys showed a decline in Trump’s popularity and the prices of basic goods on the American table (coffee, orange juice and meat) soared. Now strategic minerals, rare earths and geopolitical pragmatism speak louder,” he said, adding:
“Or has Moraes become a pacifist and defender of human rights? Has Brazil become an example of a thriving democracy? Or was there a pardon for the political prisoners of 01/08?” Moral of the story: Brazil can only be solved from within, with firmer senators and a new president. »

MP Luiz Philippe of Orléans and Bragança (PL-SP) was another to complain. “The American government’s Christmas gift to Brazil was to return to the country the best organized political force here: corrupt and corrupting,” he accused.
The leader of the PL in the House, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), took a different line in thanking the US government. “Thank you @realDonaldTrump, the war to remove the SUPREME LEFT from power in Brazil will be ours, that of the Brazilians, but thank you for all your help!,” he said.
