The defense of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) informed that it will transmit this Monday (15/12) a new request to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), to authorize the surgical operation recommended for the former president. The request will be presented after confirmation of the diagnosis of two inguinal hernias by ultrasound carried out on the politician this Sunday (14/12).
According to the lawyers, the examination was carried out at the headquarters of the Superintendence of the Federal Police (PF), in Brasilia, using a portable device authorized by the STF. According to the medical team accompanying Bolsonaro, this pathology requires surgical treatment as a definitive measure.

On Saturday (13/12), Alexandre de Moraes authorized a doctor to enter the PF unit with a portable ultrasound machine to carry out the examination.
This measure was requested after the minister considered that the documents previously presented by the defense were old and ordered the PF to carry out an official medical examination, lasting up to 15 days, which is still ongoing.
The defense requests that Bolsonaro be transported to DF Star Hospital, in Brasilia, to carry out the procedure and that he remain hospitalized for the period necessary for his recovery. An inguinal hernia is characterized by the displacement of part of the intestine or abdominal tissue through the groin area, which can cause swelling, pain and discomfort, especially during physical exertion.
The former president has been imprisoned since November 22 at the Federal Police Superintendency, where he is serving his sentence in closed regime after the case linked to the putsch plot became final.
