Minister Alexadre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), rejected a request from the defense of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to waive the requirement for prior authorization to receive a visit from his wife Michelle Bolsonaro and his children.
The defense had also requested that visits to Bolsonaro prison, located in the Federal Police Superintendence, in Brasilia, take place freely between Monday and Friday. However, Moraes said there was “no reasonable reason for changes to be made” to federal police procedure.
The minister explained that, for reasons of administrative organization and security of the Superintendence of the Federal Police, visits take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., lasting 30 minutes, with a limit of two family members per day. According to the rules, each family member will visit the prisoner separately.

Visits must be authorized in advance and communicated to the Federal Police by the STF, to guarantee better organization, according to Moraes. “The execution of sentences at the Superintendence, in the staff room, is exceptional and therefore has specific rules to guarantee the safety of everyone who passes through this place, as well as the person detained,” he said.
