As the horror messages from heads of state and government follow one another about the horrific terrorist attack on Sydney’s popular Bondi Beach, signs are beginning to appear on social networks Images of tragedy caused by two subjectsone of which has already been identified as Naveed Akrama young man with Australian citizenship and Pakistani parents. He is seen on a viaduct near the beach, firing a semi-automatic rifle, with another terrorist of larger build. The latter later becomes the protagonist of another of the most shocking videos, as he is disarmed by a civilian who, with this action, certainly avoided an even greater death toll.
Paradoxically, the civilian who took the risk of disarming one of the terrorists by pulling out his weapon, a courageous action that we have already said went viral, is of Arab origin, since the perpetrators of the attack were people with ties to the Muslim religion. Ahmed al-Ahmed43 years old, father of two boys and owner of a fruit shop in Sydney. He has two gunshot wounds, but according to initial reports his life is out of danger:
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the attack as “shocking and disturbing” and called it a “completely incomprehensible event.” The images of scores of injured people lying on the beach as the first day of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah was celebrated, amid desperate efforts by other people, in some cases trying to resuscitate them and calling for ambulances, depict a scene of horror:
Authoritarians don’t like that
The practice of professional and critical journalism is a mainstay of democracy. That is why it bothers those who believe that they are the owners of the truth.
Then other pictures showed the two murderers, Akram and the still unknown shooter, They fire repeatedly until they finally land on the same viaduct where they took cover. According to police, one of the two attackers died and the other is in critical condition in a hospital:
Eleven people were killed and 29 injured in the attack on Bondi Beah. EU chief Ursula von der Leyen said she was “shocked” by the incident and condemned it as a “cruel act of violence.”
“Europe stands with Australia and Jewish communities around the world. We are united against violence, anti-Semitism and hatred,” European Commission President von der Leyen wrote to Italian leader Georgia Meloni, suggesting their countries will “fight tirelessly against anti-Semitic hatred.”
Finally, in another video about networks, A group of lifeguards are seen helping the murderers. trying to save their lives in the same place where you can see dozens of pods lying on the ground because of their mad attack:
