Botafogo will likely not only have to overcome the altitude obstacle in the Libertadores’ second knockout phase. Indeed, during your trip to Bolivia, you may have to take a route considered dangerous on a dirt road. In this case, the Glorioso delegation will travel to the city of Potosí to face the Nacional de Potosí.
In fact, the quickest drive on the dirt road takes more than three hours, with the journey being made by four-wheel drive car. This is the ideal method because these types of vehicles have better steering control. In other words, it offers greater protection during this trip.
It is possible to travel by bus, but the journey will be longer, in this case almost six hours. However, in 2024, a bus accident was recorded on this dirt road, resulting in four deaths and 36 injuries.
Boca Juniors faced Nacional de Potosí also last year in the group stage of the South American Championship. The Argentine club delegation decided to follow exactly the dirt road to reach the town of Potosí.
Botafogo confirms hiring of new coach
Martín Anselmi is the new commander of Alvinegro. The 40-year-old Argentinian has signed a two-year contract with the Rio club. The coach arrives to replace Davide Ancelotti, who left the club last Wednesday. His last job was at Porto, where he was fired after the team’s elimination in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup.
In addition to Anselmi, assistants Luis Piedrahita and Pablo de Muner, physical trainer Diego Bottaiolo and goalkeeping coach Darío Herrera arrive. Botafogo’s new coach is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro on January 4. The cast performed again the next day.
