The rule in force today has been strengthened in recent years: until 2023, five athletes from outside the country were allowed; in 2023, the cap increased to seven; in 2024 it increased to nine and remained until 2025. The Technical Council, traditionally scheduled for February or March, was brought forward to December 11 due to the reformulation of the Brazilian football calendar.
During the session, clubs were also informed of a change in the Copa do Brasil: starting next season, the tournament will give two places to the Copa Libertadores. To make this possible, the CBF will eliminate one of the six vacancies currently obtained through the Brasileirão.
