Brown University in the US state of Rhode Island reported that “there was an active shooter on campus” on Saturday evening (12/13) and asked students to take shelter.
Providence police confirm “several” people were shot “in the Brown University area.”
The University of Rhode Island says the search for one or more suspects is ongoing.
Brown and Providence police are on scene, according to the university.
President Donald Trump said “the FBI was on the scene” of the Brown University shooting.
He wrote on Truth Social: “I have been informed of the shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island.
The suspect is in police custody. God bless the victims and their families! »
Although the president claims the suspect has been arrested, this has not yet been confirmed by police.
