Businessman and rally driver Juan Cruz Yacopini suffered a serious accident at the El Carrizal dam in Mendoza while sailing in a boat this weekend and remains in hospital in a delicate condition after suffering a cardiac arrest, days after becoming world champion of the Baja Rally.
The incident occurred during a recreational activity in the aforementioned Mendoza Mirror Pool, with the pilot being involved in an accident, the causes of which are still under investigation.
After the incident, Yacopini had to be treated immediately by emergency services on site.
According to reports, the athlete was resuscitated at the scene and later taken to a health center where he was admitted.
