Businessman uses helicopter to drop meat over Goiás city

Goiania – Businessman and owner of Frigorifico Goiás, known for his involvement in political controversies and right-wing positions, Leandro Batista Nobrega distributed meat to residents of the Aparecida de Goiânia suburb, in the metropolitan region of the capital of Goiás. And something unusual: the action took place aboard a helicopter.

A food distribution campaign attracted attention this Christmas Eve (24/12). A helicopter belonging to a slaughterhouse launched packages of meat while flying over an area in the municipality of Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás.

Images circulating on social media show the plane flying over a grazing area, while residents run after food thrown from the helicopter by the businessman accompanied by his wife. The situation occurred this Wednesday (24/12), Christmas Eve, and opinions are divided on social networks.

The meat distributed contained photos of figures such as former President Jair Bolsonaro and country singer Gusttavo Lima.

In the comments on the publications made by Leandro, in which he shows the distribution of meat and calls the action “Solidarity Christmas 2025”, Internet users gave their opinion. Some praised the initiative, while others said the distribution could have been done differently.

“Congratulations! Great initiative!!,” commented a follower. “Throwing food from a helicopter is the complete opposite of social justice, this action animalizes and humiliates people. This act was disgusting and bizarre, playing Christian music only makes the situation worse. Get better!,” wrote another.

After the fallout from the case, the meatpacking company informed by notification that the decision was made based on safety and liability criteria.

“The organization has attempted on several occasions to establish an exclusive queue for children, with the aim of providing a safe and orderly experience. Despite the team’s efforts, there has unfortunately been no collaboration from some adults, who have not respected the defined organization, thus creating a risky situation.”

Footage released by the establishment shows the helicopter landing, while residents from outlying areas of the city are gathered and children hold barbecue kits.
