Cajasol Real Ciencias ended its participation in the Copa del Rey after losing 24-10 this Sunday against Inexo El Salvador at the Pepe Rojo fields, in a match marked by the solidity of the Valladolid team and … the constant effort of the Sevillian team until the end.
The match started with a lot of equality and a high pace from both teams. The scientists planned a serious game on defense, trying to contest every point of contact and make the home team uncomfortable when releasing the ball. During the first stages, the game was very balanced, with an alternation of possessions and long phases, but it was the Sevillians who managed to take the advantage on the scoreboard from the 4th minute with Tany Bay’s first scientific try.
However, a few errors in key moments and difficulty getting clearly out of their own half allowed the hosts to respond, with Arranz equalizing in the 11th minute and taking the lead in the 19th minute thanks to Triki’s goal. Cajasol Real Ciencias stayed in the match and equalized in a spectacular play by Jaime Camarero, who recovered a defensive kick in his half and escaped towards the rival goal area, preventing the opponents from repeating and establishing the 10-10 with which they went to halftime.
In the second half, the Sevillian team tried to take a step forward, increasing the defensive intensity and seeking greater speed in open play. The team tried to play more time in the rival field, but found a very organized Salvador, effective in static phases and with a well-structured defense that knew how to stop the visitors’ offensive options.
The locals managed the timing of the match better and punished mistakes, widening the difference on the scoreboard with tries from Triki in the 48th minute and Fernández in the 76th minute, both converted by Enciso, who ended up closing the match to leave the final score at 24-10.

Analysis by Tomas Carrió
After the match, Tomás Carrió analyzed the match this way: “We started well by entering the opponent’s field with our feet, we took the advantage with Tany’s try and we still had several chances that we did not know how to define. In the second half we had problems in the scrum, we hit them a lot with the possibility of playing on our field and they took the match. Now comes the Christmas break, which is good for us to recover people and face January with the best,” added the Argentine coach.
Cajasol Real Ciencias Sevilla says goodbye to the Copa del Rey this season, after a phase in which the team competed with personality and gave minutes to important players in the growth of the group. From now on, the Sevillians are focusing all their efforts on the Division of Honor, with the aim of continuing to grow as a team and facing the decisive part of the season with ambition.
Las Cocos, looking for the test against El Salvador in the goal zone
Hard defeat against the leader
Simón Verde Sport Cocos Sevilla received the leader, El Salvador, with half a dozen serious injuries on a very wet turf in a match that began with a first visitor try just after the clash of Matilda Toca and the early injury to the collarbone of ‘Puma’, replaced by ‘Mele’ after five minutes.
The Chamizas used their efficiency to increase their advantage with two tries from the powerful black and white left-handed international, Tecla Masoko, and another between the sticks of Matilda Toca. With a heavy pitch and a soapy ball, which produced inaccuracies on both sides, a new test came from the Pucelano package through Elisa Castro. In the last minutes, the Sevillians had their best chance, although after several phases of regrouping in the rival goal area, the referee did not grant the try in the penultimate play of a first period which ended with 0-27 with the score of Juan Arenas.
In the second half, the Sevillians had possession of the ball and greater initiative, but without reward since the scoreboard only moved after a quarter of an hour, still for the visitors through Claudia de la Loma. The locals did not give up and continued to look for their offensive options against a very compact and confident team, as well as very dedicated in defense. A mark from Jimena Torres converted by BingBing closed the score 0-41. With this result, the Cocos go down to sixth place, tied at fifteen points with San Cugat and two points below Cisneros, but with the clear objective of reaching the play-off positions, among the first four.
