The Chronicle had access to a video showing a 49-year-old man, identified as David Cosac Junior, attacking a 40-year-old woman and her son, a four-year-old boy, with punches and slaps. The violence occurred around 7:40 p.m. on December 7 this year, in the parking lot of a residential building in Águas Claras, in the Federal District (DF).
According to the chronicle’s investigation, the attacker holds the position of federal auditor with the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU).
Residents who witnessed the attacks told the journalist that they called the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) after learning of the episode. Despite this, the man was not arrested.
In the footage, the woman appears holding the child on her lap, apparently sleeping on her shoulder, when suddenly David walks towards the two and begins to slap the child. Then the mother and son fall to the ground, but the attacks continue. The listener continues to attack the victims and even pulls the child by the arm. To try to protect him, the woman lies on top of the boy.
After getting up, the man attacks the child again, slapping him violently on the head.
The complaint
Contacted by the chronicle, the PCDF indicated that on the date of the events, it had received an anonymous complaint reporting that a resident of a building in Águas Claras had attacked a woman and her son. The complaint was accompanied by a video of the attacks.
A police team went to the address where the suspect received officers in the presence of the assistant manager of the building. To police, David claimed he had ended the relationship with the woman and the two had a disagreement, leading to an argument.
According to the company, the perpetrator called his ex-girlfriend and handed the device to a police officer, who spoke to the victim. The woman said she had ended their relationship and did not want to press charges against the attacker.
Still according to the PCDF, the agent advised that the child be presented to Police Station 21 (Taguatinga Sul) to then be sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML).
The MP pledged to preserve footage of the episode and present it to the police unit. He also said he was not aware of any previous episodes of domestic violence involving the suspect.
The case is being investigated by the Women’s Assistance Section of the 21st Police Station.
The column attempts to contact the listener. The space for defense remains open.
