Onix returns to the top after months of gap, while electric vehicles gain space and the EX2 debuts in the Brazilian top 10
The compact and subcompact sedan segment grew again in Brazil in November 2025, totaling 57,925 units sold over the period, according to a survey by Mundo do Automóvel para PCD.
In this positive scenario, the Chevrolet Onix has regained segment leadership after a long period away from the top. Thus, the model of the American brand led to the general advance and reignited the dispute between the main rivals.
Onix closed November with 9,524 registrations, a number well above the 7,439 recorded in October. With this, the hatch creates expectations for December and 2026, indicating a possible return to the main role.
Just behind is the VW Polo, historic leader in the category, which totaled 9,381 units over the month. Although it was up from October, when 9,150 cars were registered, the volume was not enough.
Rounding out the top 3, the Fiat Argo recorded 8,386 units sold in November. The result represents a significant drop compared to October, when the model led the segment with 9,981 registrations.
In fourth place comes the Hyundai HB20, which ended November with 7,640 units sold. However, this number is much lower than in October, when sales reached a significant 9,687 units.
Closing the top 5, Renault Kwid recorded 7,302 units for the month, growing steadily. In October, the subcompact recorded 5,316 sales, indicating a significant market response.
