
A player has won nearly 1,800 million dollars (1,528.7 million euros) in the Powerball Christmas lottery in the United States. This is the second largest prize ever awarded in the history of the country, as the game organization reported this Thursday.
Only one ticket sold in Arkansas matched all six numbers drawn on Christmas Eve and won the biggest prize.
The boat stood at $1.817 million in annualized paymentsdistributed in 29 installments, but the winner will have the opportunity to receive a single cash payment of $834.9 million, both before taxes.
46 draws without a winner
It is second biggest prize in the history of American lotteries after the Powerball drawing of November 7, 2022, which awarded $2.04 billion in California.
This is the second time that the Powerball jackpot fell in Arkansas, after a drawing organized in 2010.
The winning combination consisted of the white balls 4, 25, 31, 52 and 59, the red ball 19 and the Power Play 2 multiplier.
The grand prize was accumulated after 46 consecutive drawings in which Nobody understood the six digits. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, the organization says.
