Christmas comes not only in the lives of Brazilians, but also in the soap opera “Dona de Mim”. And a special guest will participate in the Boaz family’s special evening: Abel (Tony Ramos).
But how can a deceased businessman “participate” in a party if he is already dead? This is the question that will hang over the special chapter broadcast on Christmas Day, the 25th.
The presence of family patriarch Boaz promises to arouse emotion and curiosity in the audience, but it is not a literal return. Globo’s seven-hour soap opera will focus on a sensitive approach, linked to memory, affection and spirituality.
In the episode, the plot will open space for a celebration little known to most Brazilians: the Hanukkah, traditional Jewish holiday also called the Festival of Lights.
The Boaz family will gather at the mansion for the ritual, and Abel will be present symbolically, remembered with affection and reverence by all, as someone who continues to live on in the memory of those who remained.
It is worth remembering that “Dona de Mim” has already gone through some time in the chapter broadcast last Friday (19), when some characters appeared quickly to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
As a result, the story is about a year ahead of schedule and will not focus on traditional Christian celebrations. Instead, the novel chooses to valorize the Jewish culture of the Boaz family.
The Hanukkah scenes are expected to air in Thursday’s (25th) episode. The celebration recalls the victory of the Maccabees over Greek domination.
