The statement made to the press comes after the senator’s announcement Flavio Bolsonaro (PL) that he was chosen by the former president Jair Bolsonarowho is in prison, to run for president.
“Senator Flávio is one of the best friends I have in my public life. If I personally had to choose a candidate to succeed Bolsonaro, I have no doubt that it would be Flávio, because of my relationship with him. But politics is not done only with friendships. It is done with research, with feasibility, with listening to allied parties. It cannot be just a decision of the PL,” Ciro said.
Ciro said he would meet Monday evening Flavio Bolsonaro. “I will listen to him, we will talk to understand (the reason for our candidacy),” he said.
He reiterated his understanding that the two candidates who could unify a right-wing coalition are Tarcisio And Mouse. “I am not the lord of reason and I can be convinced (of the opposite), but with arguments and criteria so that we can make a choice.”
The national president of the PP was in Curitiba to participate in a meeting of the State Directory of the party, controlled in Paraná by federal deputy Ricardo Barros.
