Isabel Diaz Ayuso appears this Wednesday at Royal Post Officeafter the Government Council, to take stock of a particularly tense year in national and Madrid politics. It’s been twelve months of political battles in the Assembly … of Madrid and frontal clashes between the left and Vox with the PP of Ayuso. But amid the noise, the regional government continued on its way, approving laws and taking measures, which it was able to do thanks to the majority it has in the regional Parliament, unlike what is happening with the Sánchez government. The most palpable proof of this will be the third regional budgets of Parliament which will be approved this week in the Assembly, which clearly contrasts with the paralysis of the National Executive.
In the assessment that Ayuso will make, he will highlight that his government has already carried out more than 97 percent of the measures of the Popular Party’s program, which will serve to praise the activity of a Community of Madrid that does not stop. Concretely, the Government Council approved more than 1,390 files related to all the measures included in the government program planned for this legislature, or 97.17 percent of the total. In total, 248 initiatives have been carried out and 198 others are still in development, which represents 446 of the 459 planned.
Two of the highlights of this past year were the start of work on the City of Justice, which will concentrate 26 judicial seats currently distributed throughout the city in the Valdebebas district of the capital, and the attribution of the industrial building of the City of Health, which will begin in the first quarter of 2026 and which will bring together the Public Hospital of La Paz and the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University in a single biohealth complex.
Other notable actions relate to the field of Transport. One of the notable events was the reopening of line 7B of the metro, after completing the consolidation and repair works of an infrastructure that serves 120,000 potential users, connecting the municipalities of San Fernando de Henares and Coslada to the capital. Since November 22, the section between the Barrio del Puerto and Hospital del Henares stations has been operational again according to its usual schedule. In addition, the connection of line 3 with MetroSur at El Casar station (Getafe) is now operational and work is progressing for the automation of line 6, which will fully reopen next Saturday, and for the extension of line 11 between Plaza Elíptica and Conde de Casal.
An element in which President Ayuso has put more effort is the Regional Anti-Drug Plan of the Community of Madrid, which has 75 measures, such as the distribution of educational materials in institutes or the creation of a 012 telephone service against drugs operating 24/7 to offer information and psychological support.

In his report, Ayuso will highlight that the Community of Madrid has reached a record number of Madrid residents supported in the dependency system, with nearly 210,000 users and more than 296,000 benefits and services granted. The figure of 65,000 specialist care places for the elderly, people with disabilities and people with serious mental illnesses has also been exceeded. The president is particularly proud of this other fact: Madrid is leading the demographic recovery in Spain, with almost 297 million euros in direct aid already benefiting 26,000 mothers.
The regional government boasts of the Plan Choc Logement, which includes the Plan Vive, with the provision of 14,000 affordable rental housing units in more than twenty municipalities, and the Pueblos con Vida program, to support commerce, hospitality and pharmacies in towns with less than 1,000 inhabitants. For the rest of the year, Ayuso will not forget measures such as limiting screens in schools or consolidating Madrid as the world headquarters for major sporting events.
