
The joint venture, called NovaAndino Litio SpA, was born from the merger of Minera Tarar SpA, a subsidiary of Codelco, with SQM Salar SpA.informed the companies this Saturday (27), in a press release. The agreement will have a positive and relevant impact on Codelco’s financial results in 2025, according to the companies.
As part of the transaction, SQM transferred all of its Salar de Maricunga mining concessions to Codelco.
NovaAndino Litio will control all lithium exploration, production and sale in the Salar de Atacama until 2060ensuring the continuity of existing contracts with the Corfo development agency and new agreements which will come into force from 2031.
