17-year-old from Maranhão extends his reign in the world’s leading street skate league
For the fourth time in a row, she declared: Rayssa Leal is the champion of the SLS Super Crown 2025. The 17-year-old from Maranhão “broke everything” at the Ibirapuera gymnasium, in São Paulo, used her high-level experience to beat her opponents and extend her reign in the world skateboarding elite this Sunday 7.
Showing more calm than in previous editions of the decision, Rayssa Leal was keen to have fun throughout the weekend at the São Paulo Arena.
On Saturday 6, she attended the round of 16 of the Super Crown, encouraged her opponents and saw the Japanese Coco Yoshizawa, Liz Akama, Funa Nakayama and Yumeka Oda qualify.
On Sunday, the sports hall was full of supporters, many of whom wore jerseys and brought the stands “down” during each of the Brazilian’s performances during warm-ups.
With the finalists lined up, Rayssa was the last to be announced and sent the audience into a frenzy. Before her, the Brazilians also showed great support for the Australian Chloe Covell, the only one, with the Brazilian, to directly access the decision.
And the duel for the title was concentrated precisely between the two: both found their first line of maneuver. Chloe applied pressure and got an 8.2. Challenged, Rayssa did not feel the weight of the argument and, with a perfect line, took the lead with 8.3, a tenth of a gap.
The public then began to bite their nails with the Brazilian at the forefront of the argument. During the second attempt, the skaters preserved themselves and did not make any major changes.
sequences, placing the protest on individual maneuvers.
The fight for the title intensified and Yumeka Oda took the lead with a beautiful weak frontslide on the big rail, grabbing the first 9 of the day.
But Rayssa didn’t give up and, with a kickflip on the big railing, she once again led the fight in the final, with a score of 8.7.
With two tricks remaining, the skaters threw everything they knew and took risks to increase their score. The argument remained indefinite until the final maneuver, and it was up to Rayssa Leal to finalize the women’s decision.
With the weight of the Brazilian fans on the board, the Maranhão native defined her fourth championship with all the experience she has acquired over the years at the highest level of world skateboarding.
