The identities of the victims have not been released. According to g1, the accident involved a Doblô model car, carrying eight people, and a pick-up, carrying three other people. The two cars collided head-on and then caught fire.
According to the PRF, the Doblô entered in the opposite direction, towards Vitória. The vehicle then collided with the truck which was traveling in the opposite direction. The accident area was closed by the PRF, but released at 1:40 p.m.
