The general commander of the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF), Ana Paula Habka, revealed, in an interview with Metropolisesthat the company has already received resources from the federal government to purchase body cameras that will be used by police officers on the streets. With this resource, the call for tenders for the acquisition will be published by January 2026.
Habka said PMDF’s logistics department had to make adjustments to the notice in order to comply with the union’s forecast. “Last week, the Department of Justice already made the budget available to allow us to purchase these body cameras that we will probably launch this year, or at the latest in early January,” he said.

The colonel also said soldiers using this equipment must follow the PMDF’s own regulations.
“We are going to put regulations in place, train all the police officers who will use this body camera, to show that we are a transparent police force and that this is important, not only for investigations, but especially for the person who provides security, who is the military police officer,” he added.
Ana Paula Habka also said that the company acquired ballistic vests, new weapons and vehicles, as well as non-lethal weapons to strengthen the society.

“We buy horses, we buy weapons, non-lethal weapons and deadly weapons. We also buy high-end pistols like glocks, ballistic vests. We invest in uniforms, we invest in our barracks to also give dignity to the police,” he stressed.
