Contrain (National Traffic Council) approved a resolution, on Monday (first), ending the obligation to take lessons at a driving school for the driver’s license test.
The decision was taken unanimously, and will be effective immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
To obtain a national driving licence, passing theoretical and practical tests will still be required.
Ending mandatory lessons in driving schools to obtain a driver’s license is the slogan of Transport Minister Renan Filho. This measure is part of a plan to reduce the cost and requirements for document issuance.
