Corinthians enter the Neo Química Arena for the first leg of the Brazilian Cup final against Vasco this Wednesday (17/12), at 9:30 p.m., with a taboo to break: Timão has never won a match with Rafael Rodrigo Klein as the main referee.
Klein refereed seven Timão matches throughout his career, with two draws and five losses. Cruzamaltino has 13 matches with Rafael as referee, with five wins, five draws on the scoreboard and three unfavorable results in retrospect.
Additionally, Rafael Klein was also the referee for Vasco’s only victory against Corinthians in the last 15 years. The game was valid for the 16th round of the 2024 Brazilian Championship, on September 10.
In addition to the gaucho, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) chose Guilherme Dias Camilo (MG) and Rafael da Silva Alves (RS) as linesmen. The 4th referee will be Davi de Oliveira Lacerda, while Daniel Nobre will command the VAR.
The return match between Vasco and Corinthians will take place on Sunday December 21, at 6:30 p.m., at the Maracanã. The refereeing for the second duel has not yet been defined.
