On Thursday (12/04), the Brazilian Football Confederation released the national classification of women’s football clubs and associations for 2026. As expected, Corinthians confirmed its dominance on the national stage. Brabas, the current Brazilian champion, tops the list by a large margin with 14,000 points. The superiority of second place actually exceeds 2000 points, which indicates the victorious persistence of the black and white project in recent years.
But São Paulo’s dominance goes beyond the top. The top four places in the standings belong to the São Paulo state clubs. Palmeiras comes in second place (11,536 points), closely followed by Sao Paulo (11,162) and Ferroviaria (11,112). Internacional (10.072), from Rio Grande do Sul, closes the top five group, breaking Sao Paulo’s sequence.
The Brazilian Confederation’s criteria take into account the teams’ performance in national competitions held in the past five years. Therefore, clubs accumulate points as they progress through the stage and win titles. The 2025 season also had a special weight, as it witnessed the Women’s Brazilian Cup for the first time, in addition to the traditional Brazilian championship.
In the league standings, the scenario is repeated. The São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) leads by a slim margin of over 50,000 points over second place. The Confederation of African Football has 78,150 points, while the Rio de Janeiro Federation comes in second place with 27,524 points. Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais and the Federal District complete the top five of the strongest government entities in the sport.
