The National Court is investigating Leire DiezTHE plumber of the PSOE, already Vicente Fernándezformer president of Sepi (State Company of Industrial Participations), after admitting a complaint from the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office which recounts different behaviors of alleged crimes of influence peddling, among others.
This is what the sources of the investigation carried out by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard detail to EL ESPAÑOL.
This Wednesday, the UCO arrested Díaz and Fernández in Madrid. Likewise, during the last hoursand I practiced various entries and recordings in some facilities.

This is a secret investigation led by the judge of the National Court Antonio Piña, president of the Central Court of Instruction number 6.
The search will continue into the early hours of Thursday and it cannot be ruled out that further arrests will take place.
For the moment, the case remains subject to summary secrecy in an attempt to reduce the risk of destruction of sources of evidence.
It was the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office that filed the complaint – based on UCO reports – against Leire Díez, Vicente Fernández and other people, whose identities have not been revealed until now.
It turns out that the woman, known as plumber of the PSOE, attempted to obtain sensitive information to, supposedly, undermine the work of Anti-Corruption and the UCO.
It is for this reason that she is the subject of an investigation by another court (Instruction 9 of Madrid) for alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption.
Diez’s arrest this Wednesday, according to the same sources, is due to “alleged irregularities” in Sepi contracts.
Nexo Díez – Fernández
THE plumber of the PSOE and the other arrested, Vicente Fernández, had a close relationship since at least 2017, according to this newspaper.
During the interview that Leire Díez had last May with the prosecutor Ignacio Stampa —who secretly recorded the conversation—the woman presented herself as an emissary of the PSOE.
During this meeting, during which plumber attempted to obtain information on alleged irregularities in the fight against corruption, he defined himself as the “right hand“by Santos Cerdánthen organizational secretary of the Socialist Party.
From that meeting until today, Cerdán has been sent to prison —and already released— by order of the Supreme Court, in a case in which the alleged rigging of public works in exchange for illegal orders.
For his part, Vicente Fernández signed for the construction company Servinabar 2000 SLwhose owner is Antxón Alonsofriend of Santos Cerdán and also instructed by the Supreme Court in the aforementioned case.
The signing of the construction company linked to Cerdán took place after Fernández was indicted in the case Aznalcóllar case. Less than a week ago, the former president of Sepi was acquitted.
The hiring came after Finance Minister María Jesús Montero’s plan to quickly have the Aznalcóllar case archived so that Vicente Fernández could return to his post was frustrated. It did not happen that way and the acquittal only came last week.
Fernández Guerrero was a man of the greatest confidence of María Jesús Montero, who was the one who personally approved his appointment to the Sepi after the two coincided in the Junta de Andalucía.
Santos Cerdan signed a document, found by the UCO when searching for the address of the owner of Servinabar, by which acquired 45% of this small construction companywhich, despite its small size, benefited from multi-million dollar work, in a UTE (temporary union of companies) with Action.
Among others, the reform of the Belate tunnelsin Navarra, and the expansion of the Centenario Bridge in Seville, awards that the UCO keeps under surveillance due to their alleged manipulation.
Likewise, Leire Díez was a director, representing Sepi, of the technology company Cistec from July 2021 to May 2023.
Cistec, in a consultation carried out by EL ESPAÑOL in June this year, assured that Leire Díez “received no remuneration for the exercise of the position of member of the council”.
“There is no connection or intervention of the aforementioned former advisor in the few public tenders in which Cistec was able to participate,” Cistec said in an official response sent to this newspaper.
