São Paulo’s season is over. With the defeat in Barradão, against Vitória, the club officially ends the 2025 season in eighth place in the Brazilian Championship. After the match, when asked about the team’s balance, Argentina coach Hernán Crespo said:
“I can only talk about the six months we spent here. We achieved our goal of reaching eighth place. When we arrived we were one point away from the relegation zone, so finishing eighth is positive. But I’m not happy, I think São Paulo can do a lot more, there is a lot of room for improvement, but the goal has been achieved.”
Asked about planning for next season, Crespo said that has already been done with the board. The Argentinian said the reformulation would have to be major and that he would continue at the club even though he was aware of the difficulties encountered.
Regarding the situation of the athlete Rigoni, the coach did not confirm his stay and said that these are personal matters, adding that the committee is aware of the situation of all players and that they are all monitored.
