After showing the Chimes on La Sexta for ten years in a row, Cristina Pardo is the first time that she is not at the Puerta del Sol in Madrid to welcome the year with viewers, after Atresmedia decided that Cristina Pedroche and Alberto Chicote will be in charge of broadcasting the Grapes on all channels.
Therefore, in the last broadcast of “El Hormiguero” of 2025, the journalist wanted to fulfill her ritual and wink on New Year’s Eve by giving a second life to the iconic Alejandro de Miguel design that she wore during the Campanadas in 2023, transforming it into an elegant tuxedo with which she attended her weekly appointments with Pablo Motos, Tamara Falcó, Juan del Val and Nuria Roca.
A two-piece that hides a very special story, as it consists of the impressive passionate red dress with transparencies and rhinestones, a creation of the designer from La Mancha, with which she won the title of “most elegant presenter” of the grapes two years ago and became one of the most famous looks of her career.
In an exercise in circular fashion and haute couture, Alejandro de Miguel – Queen Sofía’s main designer and creator of the renewed and celebrated looks she has worn lately – has transformed the iconic design into a red tuxedo, elegant and functional, adapted to the needs of the presenter for her television appearance on “El Hormiguero”.
The process respected the dress’s original elements – such as the hand-crafted beading on the cuffs and body – and incorporated them into a structured jacket that retains the strength and personality of the original design. “I was particularly pleased to transform such a beautiful memory into a piece of clothing that Cristina can continue to enjoy,” admits the designer, emphasizing that “fashion can also be memory, reinvention and sustainability.” With this gesture, Pardo reaffirms its bond with the brand and its commitment to artisanal fashion made in Spain with its own identity.
