Flamengo celebrated another feat this Saturday (13/12). The red and black team defeated Egyptian Pyramids 2 x 0 in the semi-final of the Intercontinental Cup, to secure a place in the decider against PSG. But he also received the Challenger Cup winner’s cup. With this, Mengo reaches seven cuts lifted in 2025.
The Challenger’s Cup, translated from English, defines who will face the Champions League champion, PSG, in the final of the competition. The Challenger Cup was contested between the winner of the Americas Derby and the winner of the Africa, Asia and Pacific competition.

The Derby of the Americas was the stage preceding the Intercontinental semi-final. Flamengo played this stage last Wednesday (10/12). The 2-1 victory against Mexican Cruz Azul confirmed the team’s progression in the competition.
The Rio team secured its participation in the world tournament by winning the Libertadores on November 29. In the final played in Lima, Peru, Flamengo defeated Palmeiras 1 x 0 and became the first Brazilian club to become four-time champions of the competition.
In addition to this, Mengão also won the Brazilian Championship, Carioca, Taça Guanabara and Supercopa Rei trophies this year.
