After murdering Rosa Maria da Silva, Marcelo Pacheco Coelho de Souza, 21, and his 14-year-old girlfriend – the victim’s daughter – hid the body in a barrel of water, which was thrown into a well and then concreted over. The couple confessed the crime to the Rio de Janeiro State Civil Police (PCERJ).
According to the chronicle, the murder was motivated by Rosa Maria’s dissatisfaction with their relationship. The victim was killed after being beaten in the head with a stick.

Disappearance
Initially, the incident was recorded as the disappearance of the teenager and her mother. However, the investigation revealed the plan and, when confronted, the teenager confessed to the crime, indicated where the body was and handed over Marcelo.
Friday morning (12/12), with the support of the Special Resources Coordination and the 20th GBM of the RJ State Military Fire Brigade, investigators carried out investigations at the suspect’s home.
During the investigation, which lasted more than 15 hours, the police located Marcelo, who also confirmed the crime.
After the crime was discovered, Marcelo was arrested and taken to the headquarters of the Niterói, São Gonçalo, Itaboraí and Maricá Homicide Police Station (DHNSG) to record the incident and take the usual legal measures. He remains at the disposal of Justice.
The teenager was apprehended in accordance with the Child and Adolescent Status (ECA).
The PCERJ indicated that investigations are continuing.
