Cruzeiro has announced the signing of 20-year-old Neyser Villarreal, who will sign a contract until 2028. The striker finished as the top scorers in the recent Under-20 World Cup.

Neyser Villarreal was linked to the Colombian player, Millonarios, until last week, when he arrived in Belo Horizonte to start working with his new team. In addition to the striker, Cruzeiro also signed goalkeeper Matheus Cunha at the end of his contract with Flamengo.

After the U-20 World Cup, the young man did not appear for his club. Thus, Millonarios opened an internal disciplinary file and evaluated the possibility of transferring the player to FIFA, which did not materialize. Between June and September, the striker was unable to play due to an injury to one of his knees.

In addition to Cruzeiro, Neyser Villarreal has received an offer from Atletico Madrid and has attracted the attention of Barcelona. The contract with Raposa includes a termination fine of more than R$300 million for clubs abroad.
