Chinese company EngineAI has returned to the spotlight after releasing a video in which its CEO, Zhao Tongyang, is knocked down by a kick applied by the T800, a humanoid robot recently launched by the company. According to the company, the scene published last Saturday is part of a “mock fight” created to refute accusations that the images of the model, who previously appeared doing pirouettes and dance steps, were made with computer-generated images (CGI).

Developed by the company to replace humans in the fields of policing, logistics, customer service and industry, the robot is 1.73 meters tall, weighs 75 kg, has 360º vision and has been “programmed to fight”, according to its developers. The video ends with Tongyang saying that if he didn’t use special protection, he would end up “all broken”, which caused a mixed reception online.
On EngineAI’s Instagram profile, you can find influencers who seem interested in using the robot in their content as well as people who have criticized the invention with a dose of good humor. “That means the kick is so powerful it could kill a human being… GOOD NEWS!”, quips one of the comments.

Other people have also pointed out the similarity of the model’s name to that of the cyborg T-1000, villain of the “Terminator” film series, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, in which machines go to war against humans.

While it is also available for military and commercial use, EngineAI says the T800 was designed to lead the current generation of humanoids for industrial use, prioritizing strength, durability and continuous operation.
According to the website of the Chinese company, which claims to build an “intelligent, open and integrated ecosystem to give robots unlimited possibilities”, the T800 has:
- Radar and 360° detection system, without blind spots and capable of processing environmental data in milliseconds, thus reducing reaction time;
- 29 degrees of freedom in joint movements, with movements similar to those of a person;
- Active cooling fans in the leg joints, preventing overheating;
- Maximum torque of 450 N·m at the joints, which the company describes as “peak explosive power”;
- Modular solid lithium battery, with up to 5 hours of battery life;
- Hands with 7 degrees of movement, fingertip sensors that mimic human touch and the ability to carry objects weighing up to 5 kg;
- Ultralight, aerospace-grade magnesium-aluminum shell designed to withstand impact.
The company also emphasizes that all images published are 100% real, without the use of generative artificial intelligence, computer graphics or any form of manipulation.
