Associação Brasil Melhor expanded the consolidated social project Filhos da Nação, which for eight years has been offering free courses in rowing sports such as Hawaiian canoeing and stand-up paddle for socially vulnerable children and adolescents in the Federal District, and opened a new front to serve girls aged 12 to 18.
The association is therefore looking for investors who identify with the cause of childhood, youth and women’s empowerment – and who can sponsor the project.
The initiative called Filhas da Nação aims to promote dignity, citizenship, well-being, physical and mental health and gender equality through the sport of rowing for girls in the national adoption and foster system and public schools in vulnerable situations.
The methodological basis of the project is remotherapy, a social technology that combines the practice of rowing sports, such as stand up paddle (SUP) and Hawaiian canoeing, with the principles of Jungian psychology. This approach uses the act of rowing as a metaphor for overcoming challenges and seeking balance.

All courses take place at Lake Paranoá, at the Association of Servants of the Chamber of Deputies (Ascade). In addition to Hawaiian canoe and stand-up paddle instructors, the project brought together a multidisciplinary team composed of psychologists, psychotherapists, athletes, environmental educators, among other professionals.
The objective of Filhas da Nação is to act directly on the “social pain” caused by uncertainty about the future, which generates anxiety and affects the academic concentration and professional projects of young women.
Sponsorship Opportunity
Companies can support Filhas da Nação through incentive laws, associating their brand with ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) principles and gender equity.
Currently, Filhos da Nação has the support of institutions such as Neoenergia, Drogasil, Sicoob, BRB Seguros and Emgea.
Support Terms:
- Federal Law on Sports Incentives: Companies taxed on actual profit can allocate up to 3% of the income tax due.
- DF Sports Incentive Law: Companies that pay ICMS or ISSQN in the Federal District can sponsor the project.
The incentive can be up to 20% of the ISSQN or 3% of the ICMS due in the month of application. According to the project, the investment not only generates real social impact, but also provides institutional visibility and impactful content for sponsors.
In addition to the direct impact on the beneficiaries, Filhas da Nação offers the sponsor qualified institutional visibility, with compensation such as exposure of the brand in institutional media and events; association with an initiative aligned with ESG and SDG principles; production of content and stories with impact and public recognition as a social investor committed to gender equality.
Matheus Vieira, one of the teachers in the initiative, said Filhas da Nação was created to provide opportunities for girls growing up in vulnerable contexts.
“Creating an exclusive project for them is recognizing that their pains, their fears and their silences are different – and that they need a safe space to develop. When a girl becomes emotionally stronger, she breaks cycles and expands possibilities not only for herself, but for the entire community around her,” she said.
SUP and canoe training
The training sees 20 girls taking four rowing sports lessons each month, with lessons taking place once a week and lasting four hours. The workload is 16 hours of lessons.
Over the 12 months, the total duration of the project, between 200 and 400 girls will have experienced the complete rowing sports course and will be positively impacted by comprehensive training.
The Filhas da Nação project is a project 100% focused on women’s empowerment, which is part of Filhos da Nação – implemented since 2017, with the approval of the Children and Adolescents Court of the Federal District and Territorial Justice Court and which has already directly or indirectly affected more than 3,000 people.
Those who wish to sponsor the Filhas da Nação project can contact the association by email at children@brasilmelhor.org.br or by calling 61 98289-0906.
