The organizing secretary of the PSOE of Castilla y León and former mayor of Burgos, Daniel de la Rosa, will lead the socialist candidacy to the Cortés of his province, after receiving the majority support of activists during the assemblies held in recent days. … Concretely, she added 145 votes, followed in second position by Virginia Jiménez, from Miranda de Ebro, with 127, who will be “number two” on the list in the next regional elections in March, according to socialist sources consulted by Ical.
This Saturday, the Provincial Executive Commission of the PSOE of Burgos proposed the provincial list for the next elections, which must be approved by the Autonomous Committee scheduled for December 19. In this case, the leadership of Esther Peña chose to respect the results of the extraordinary assemblies held in the province when organizing the candidacy, which must be equal and zipped.
De la Rosa will therefore be the one who leads the candidacy, replacing the former regional secretary Luis Tudanca, who led it in the elections of 2015, 2019 and 2022. Although in his group, that of the capital Burgos, he came second, with 66 votes, behind councilor Estrella Paredes, in the entire province he was the preferred “candidate” of socialist activism to be “number one”.
Likewise, second place will go, as in the February 2022 elections, to lawyer Virginia Jiménez, now a member of the leadership of the Socialist Parliamentary Group. The same goes for Luis Briones, from Aranda de Duero, who received notable support in his group, but not in others in the province, so he will maintain third place in the socialist candidacy.
The news begins in fourth place, which will go to Estrella Paredes, councilor at Burgos City Hall and Secretary of Equality. In fact, she was the favorite candidate of the municipal group to represent a feminist profile, so she will occupy the place occupied by Noelia Frutos, who left the Cortés this year and was replaced by David Sáinz-Aja Sáinz-Maza, the current lawyer who, in the 2026 elections, will be fifth on the list.
Below is the lawyer Eva Ceballos, from Briviesca, who replaced Tudanca in the Cortes, after his appointment as senator of the Community. He is followed by Diego Pablo Alonso García, Laura Jorge Serrano, the capital’s trade unionist Roger Grijalba, Rosario Martínez García and Víctor Urién. The replacements will be: María Ángeles López Sánchez, José Luis Aragón Abajo and Marta Álvarez Carasa.
Thus, the lawyer Jesús Puente, Secretary of Health of the PSCyL executive, fifth in the 2022 candidacy, will not be part of the new Cortés list. Socialist sources explained that he only presented himself in the region of Las Merindades, which is why he did not receive the support of activists in the rest of the province of Burgos, and therefore found himself without the possibility of running for the autonomous chamber.
Thus, among the previous PSOE candidacy in Burgos, which elected eleven prosecutors, only Virginia Jiménez, Luis Briones, David Sáinz-Aja and Eva Ceballos will repeat. The objective set by the party for the month of March with this renewed list is to retain the five mandates achieved in 2019 and 2022.
In the last regional elections, the PSOE was the party with the most votes in the province, ahead of the PP, which obtained four lawyers, while Vox had two.
