A serious episode of insecurity once again rocked the educational community of Ensenada after the director of the School of Technical Education No. 2 discovered yesterday morning that criminals had broken into the institution to steal a significant amount of computer equipment and goods.
According to the complaint, the principal arrived at the school on Camino Ingeniero Humet and Güemes and, after opening the main door, began his usual tour of the facilities. When he arrived at the SUM sector, where the computer lab is located, he found an alarming scene: the door was broken and wide open.
As he entered the classroom, he noticed the missing eight black CPUs and their accompanying 22-inch monitors, devices that had recently been assembled by a computer house in La Plata. The director provided a copy of the purchase invoice and photos of the condition of the place after the theft.
A tour of the school revealed further damage. In the kitchen, the furniture where goods were stored was broken into and missing, but the complainant was unable to state what was taken. Something similar happened in the buffet area: the doors looked smashed and most of the products were missing.
Indignantly, the director pointed out that the thieves had entered through a barred window overlooking the courtyard and confirmed that there were community security cameras in the area that could provide important footage for the investigation.
The incident sparked concern among teachers and families, not only because of the economic value of the theft, but also because of the damage caused by the loss of important technology education equipment.
