A survey by Sebrae shows that 93% of DF small business owners use the bank’s app on their personal mobile phones. The average in DF is higher than in the country. In 10 years, the use of mobile banking applications has increased from 15% to 90% in the country.
The data is contained in the “Financial Habits of Small Businesses” survey, carried out by Sebrae, published first-hand by the Metropolises and reveal that small business financial management has become almost entirely digital.
In DF, only 21% of small business owners visit the bank teller and 35% use the ATM, whether inside or outside the branch. More than half (59%) admit to using Internet banking services predominantly.
According to the study, men still rely more on physical care, while women are more digitalized. The older the entrepreneur, the more dependent he is on physical channels.

For Sebrae President Décio Lima, the digitalization of small businesses contributes to the adoption of new technologies. “The majority of them have access to laptops and almost 100% have a mobile phone with internet, including broadband. Access to this equipment allows them to search for services on the internet, on the network, including banking services via mobile phone,” he analyzes.
“Brazilian entrepreneurs have been digitalized thanks to equipment, the Internet and artificial intelligence, although we still have a good margin of progress thanks to more sophisticated tools and services,” adds Décio.
