At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, Brazilian moviegoers were able to follow the successful journey of “I’m Still Here”, by Walter Salles, which became the first Brazilian feature film to win the Golden Globe for best actress, with Fernanda Torres, and the Oscar for best international film. For the current awards season, Brazil has a new candidate: “The Secret Agent”. Kleber Mendonça Filho’s work has already won the Best Foreign Film award from critics in New York and Los Angeles, in addition to two Critics Choice nominations (best actor and best international film) and three Golden Globe nominations (best dramatic film, best actor in a drama film and best film in a language other than English).
Given the renewed interest of the Brazilian public in award ceremonies, we have prepared a calendar below with the main dates. Keep your eyes open!
