The crime
According to the Rondônia Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPRO), the victim was lured under professional pretexts and subjected to intense physical and psychological suffering. The attacks included death threats, restrictions on freedom and simulated shootings with firearms, as well as incitement to violence through video calls.
Seriously threatened, the victim was forced to sign a document aimed at guaranteeing an unfair economic advantage to those involved and had his mobile phone stolen.
Those convicted must also pay minimum compensation equivalent to ten minimum wages to repair the damage caused. Those who were already detained will remain in detention, in accordance with the regime established in the court decision.
The MPRO also informed that it would request the sharing of evidence with the Regional Medical Council (CRM), for the possible opening of an ethical-disciplinary procedure, since the conduct attributed to the doctor is considered incompatible with the principles of the profession.
