Nascimento. “Mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, have immutable factors, such as genetics. However, they are also strongly influenced by our habits, which we often do without being aware of the consequences,” he warns.

1 – Cell phone excess
“Excessive cell phone use is today one of the main catalysts of mental illness. In fact, this habit stimulates anxiety, especially when it turns into addiction, and becomes a huge problem when combined with excessive use of social networks,” explains the psychiatrist.
2 – Sleep poorly
“Bad nights, insomnia and chronic lack of sleep are a strong characteristic of anxiety and depression that can worsen their symptoms and also generate physical consequences,” explains the doctor.
3 – Extreme perfectionism
“Being a perfectionist can even be healthy at some point, however, when it reaches the level of obsession, it becomes extremely harmful, generating chronic stress. We cannot always do things ‘perfect’, which also generates frustration and anxiety,” warns Flávio.
