Norwegian DOF Group announced on Tuesday that it had signed a four-year contract with Petrobras for an RSV Skandi Commander vessel, worth around $150 million, according to a company statement.
The contract for the RSV Vessel, a remotely operated vehicle support vessel, is the result of a competitive process and follows six other four-year RSV contracts previously announced by the DOF.
A unique feature of the Skandi Commander contract is “the inclusion of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) that will be used as part of the vessel’s functions in addition to the remotely operated vehicle (ROV),” the company said.
The contract is expected to begin in January 2027.
