According to data from the National Registry of Traffic Violations, Brazilians received more than 74 million traffic fines last year. The figure reveals that every minute, just over 142 fines are issued. In this context, Doutor Multas, a traffic law startup in Brazil, announced the launch of its artificial intelligence, designed to automate the process of appealing traffic fines and provide important results.

With this solution, more than R$ 1 million was returned to drivers who were unfairly fined, creating a significant impact on citizens’ pockets and increasing trust in the tool.

The system achieved a success rate of 71% in identifying procedural errors committed by transportation agencies nationwide. “We have developed an AI that democratizes access to defense against fines, providing speed, efficiency and a high level of accuracy,” says Gustavo Fonseca, founder of Doutor Multas. “Our AI analyzes each case in detail and identifies errors that drivers often go unnoticed, increasing the chances of success.”

The work of artificial intelligence is based on a combination of machine learning and natural language processing. The technologies allow the system to analyze violation notices and reference data with administrative precedents and build legal resources.

This process ensures that drivers have an effective and affordable alternative to contest unfairly or improperly imposed fines, without having to hire lawyers or invest time and money in complex processes.

The solution promoted by Doutor Multas in the legal market is also changing the way drivers deal with fines. By eliminating procedural errors frequently made by transportation agencies, AI has been an important ally in building a fairer and more accessible ecosystem for all.

“We are changing the way drivers deal with punishment, giving them the opportunity to compete without relying on expensive or time-consuming processes,” Fonseca concludes.
