The former midfielder is 52 years old and has the experience of having been an assistant to the Dutch team during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Botafogo, if he wants, can swap Davide for Davids. This is what Rádio Tupi says this Saturday (20). Former Dutch player who played for major European clubs as an athlete, Edgar Davids was reportedly offered the role of coach by Mais Tradicional in place of Davide Ancelotti, who left the Rio club last Wednesday (17).
According to the publication, the former midfielder’s staff contacted Botafogo to offer him to the club.
Davids was an assistant at Telstar (HOL) and coach at Olhanense (POR). He also completed a stint, as assistant coach to Louis Van Gaal, with the Dutch national team, from 2022 to 2023. The former player therefore participated in the 2022 World Cup, in Qatar, with A Clockwork Orange.
As a player, Davids played for Juventus, Ajax, Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Barnet. With the Dutch club, he became champion of the Champions League, in 1994-95, and of the world, in 1995, on penalties, against Grêmio.
Without a coach, Botafogo analyzes the names and places Martín Anselmi, ex-Porto, as favorite after the decline of Rafael Guanaes, from Mirassol.
