The Civil Guard arrested a 72 year old man for supposedly steal a wallet with 3,500 euros at Palma airport. The events, reported by the command of the Civil Guard of the Balearic Islands, took place on Sunday afternoon.
Agents of the Finance and Borders Service were requested at one of the Son Sant Joan filters because a passenger had lost a wallet in which he had 3,500 euros in cash.
After verifying that he did not appear in the area, the Civil Guards looked at the security cameras and observed how The victim’s wallet fell to the ground when passing under the safety arch.
immediately, another person passing by took it and kept it. Officers located this person as they were preparing to board a flight to the Peninsula.
When asked about the portfolio, he admitted to having emptied it and he threw it in the trash can of one of the toilets, in addition to giving 1,500 euros to the agents.
When they recovered the wallet, which was empty, they asked him if he still had any stolen money left. He said yes and He gave them an extra 500 euros which he had kept in a pocket of his jacket.
As the number still doesn’t matchthe civil guards searched the suspect and found the rest of the money in another pocket and in your own wallet. It is for all these reasons that the man, of Spanish nationality, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of theft.
